Sheldon Singers in Prague & South Bohemia

Sheldon choir and Zavis in Hluboka

At the end of September 2015 we took a group of about 40 singers from Devon and Somerset to Prague and Ceske Budejovice where they performed several concerts helped by Pavla Pracnova in Prague and Eva Kordova in Ceske Budejovice. The group was the Sheldon singers and the programme went something like this;-

Sunday 20 September               18.20 EasyJet Flight EZY 6267 to Prague ETA 21.20

                                                22.00 (est) Coach transfer to Hotel Arlington ETA 22.30

0900-16.00 Optional Prague familiarisation tour  

Tuesday 22 September              08.00-09.00 Breakfast in hotel

10.00 Concert Kostel Panny Marie Sněžné (Church of Our Lady of the Snows)

10.30 Free time. Own arrangements for lunch

16.00 Meet at HOTEL for Coach transfer to Roztoky Castle  

16.30 - 17.30 Rehearsal

18.00 Concert with SBOR ROSA (dir-Radek šalša) Choir at ZAMEK ROZTOKY.

 

19.30 Reception in Roztoky  TICHE UDOLI with Sbor Rosa Choir (Czech Bufet –svedsky stul/Swedish table)

Wednesday 23 September         08.00-09.00 Breakfast in hotel

09.00 – 11.30 Coach transfer to South Bohemia  

11.30-12.30 - accommodation L CLUB HLUBOKA &  TENNIS HOTEL

1230 – Transfer by bus to castle

1300-1400 guided walk in the castle area singing in the greenhouse and courtyard

1400-1500 pleasant hour in Stekl Palace by the castle .  

15.00 – 1530  Rehearsal in the church         1530 bus back; Church  to Hotel

1700 bus to Town Hall  Friendly meeting with Local women’s choir Záviš in the Town Hall  

18.00 Concert; Kostel sv.Jana Nepomuckého(Church of John Nepomuk) with Záviš   

Sheldon Choir 30 minutes   Zavis Choir: 30 minutes

2000 depart by bus to hotel  2030  Dinner in the L Club Hotel with Czech hosts

    

Ceske Budejovice

Thursday 24 September            08.00 Breakfast in the hotel     09.15 Coach transfer to Ceske Krumlov

                                                10.00 Guided tour – free time and own arrangements for lunch

                                                14.15 Return to Hluboka and free time

16.30 - 16.50 Coach transfer to Ceske Budejovice        17.00 – 17.30 Rehearsal

18.00–  Concert Klášterní kostel Obětování Panny Marie’‘.(Church of the Sacrifice of the Virgin Mary)  with Ceske Budejovice Musicians and singers.

20.00   2 groups for dinner MASNE KRAMY or BUDVAR RESTAURANT

22.30 – 20.50 Return to Hluboka

Friday 25 September                 08.00 Breakfast in hotel 10.00 - optional guided tour of Hluboka Castle

                                                11.00 – 11.20 Coach to Ceske Budejovice – free time for shopping/sightseeing/lunch

                                                14.00 - 14.45 Return towards Prague via Tabor 15.00 – 18.00  Free time in Tabor

                                                18.00 – 19.30 continue in coach to Prague Airport (check in 1950)

                                                21.50 – EasyJet EZY 6268 to Bristol ETA 23.00
